Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: June 25, 2026

Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out activities that are prohibited on Itch Tickets. It applies to every buyer, seller, and visitor. Violations may result in immediate account suspension, cancellation of pending orders, forfeiture of seller payouts, and referral to law enforcement.

One account per person

Each user may operate exactly one account. Creating duplicate, sock-puppet, or sybil accounts to circumvent purchase limits, manipulate reviews, or evade enforcement is prohibited.

No bots, scrapers, or automated buying

You may not use any bot, script, scraper, headless browser, ticket-buying software, or other automated means to access, search, list, or purchase tickets. This includes any attempt to circumvent CAPTCHAs, queue systems, or purchase limits, including those imposed by primary ticket sellers. This conduct violates the federal BOTS Act of 2016 and equivalent state laws.

Resale price restrictions

Sellers are responsible for complying with all applicable resale laws, including statutory price caps in jurisdictions such as Massachusetts, Connecticut (for certain events), New York (where the venue or primary seller has imposed a cap), and others. Listings that violate price caps will be removed.

Prohibited content and conduct

  • Listing tickets you do not own, do not have the right to sell, or cannot deliver by the event start time.
  • Speculative listings ("spec selling") for tickets not yet released.
  • Fraud, money laundering, identity theft, payment-card testing, or use of stolen payment instruments.
  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, or impersonation of Itch Tickets staff.
  • Interfering with, probing, or attempting to gain unauthorized access to the site, our systems, or other users' accounts.
  • Using Itch Tickets in violation of U.S. sanctions or export-control laws.
